The Warwick Fortress was produced by Warwick from 1992 to 2002, a 10-year production run. Warwick has been building instruments in Germany since 1982. You may also see this listed as "Fortress One", "Fortress Masterman" — they refer to the same instrument.

Buying Guide

• 1Check the truss rod adjustment — bass necks take more tension than guitar necks and are more prone to developing bows.
• 2Test the electronics with the bass plugged into an amp. Active basses should have a fresh battery for testing.
• 3Inspect the nut slots — bass strings can wear deep grooves that cause buzzing on the first few frets.
