About the Lakland Decade

The Lakland Decade was introduced by Lakland in 2005 and remains in production today. Lakland has been building instruments in the United States since 1994. You may also see this listed as "DJ4", "DJ5", "Decade Bass" — they refer to the same instrument.

Buying Guide

• 1Check the truss rod adjustment — bass necks take more tension than guitar necks and are more prone to developing bows.
• 2Test the electronics with the bass plugged into an amp. Active basses should have a fresh battery for testing.
• 3Inspect the nut slots — bass strings can wear deep grooves that cause buzzing on the first few frets.
